One More
It’s almost 100 degrees outside. 🔥
It’s humid.
Most girls are inside playing a game on their phone, or giggling while they InstaTeleTokVibeChat their friends. 📱
But not these girls. They are BALLPLAYERS.
I don’t mean they play softball.
I don’t mean they work hard in games.
I don’t mean they practice hard at practice.
I don’t mean they do what the coaches tell them to do.
I mean they are TRAINING THEIR BODIES and THEIR MINDS like BALLPLAYERS even when everyone else is inside trying to stay cool.
Instead of playing their favorite Roblox game of choice and settling for just what was asked of them. Instead of hoping to win and blaming it on the ref, or the new “thing-a-ma-jig” that they wanted but their parents didn’t buy them. They were outside giving 110% on the field at a practice they asked for:
✅ Strength and Agility Training
✅ Base Running
✅ Popups
✅ Relay Throws
✅ Diving
I said 110% because after thinking I had pushed them to their limits, Lyla on the right, asked for 1 more home to home, time trial. Because in her words she knew how to fix her turn at second.
I said “I’m exhausted. It’s HOT. It’s HUMID.
But I will make you a deal, I will endure to let you have 1 more practice if you ensure me you will actually beat your time. I said “If you make me endure the heat and humidity and don’t beat your time I’m going to need you give me a lap around the field.” Just to see how badly she actually wanted to try.
❓How willing she was to risk even more work for the sake of knowing she could accomplish her BEST TIME?
❓Could she perform under that kind of in your face pressure? You know … JUST LIKE A BALLGAME.
She didn’t even blink … just a CONFIDENT “I know I will beat my time.”
Beat it she did. But more than accomplishing her best time, she PROVED to me and to HERSELF why I have so much faith in her.
So here is to all of the Hannah’s and Gabby’s and Lyla’s in the softball world:
⭐ The BALLPLAYERS that press their bodies and their minds when others are resting.
⭐ The ATHLETES that can feel the adjustments they need to make the NEXT TIME, and then GO ACCOMPLISH IT.
⭐ The young ladies who have BIG DREAMS and are willing to push themselves to make those DREAMS come true.
⭐ Those who LOVE THIS GAME and understand it is about what they do when nobody is watching that makes true CHAMPIONS.
